It’s been a great summer! The firm is busy with many exciting new projects but our biggest news is the addition of Peter Skornia, LEED-AP, to the Bazzani team.
Peter officially joined Bazzani Building Company as Vice President of Operations and Partner in June. In short, he shares my big picture view of sustainability and passion for the business which makes him the perfect choice. With Peter playing an integral role in the firm, I also realize I’m able to take more time off for sailing and travel. For those who know me well, that’s a huge vote of confidence in Peter – and a well-deserved one. But don’t worry, I’m not retiring.
Actively building the Bazzani brand and expanding the positive impact we have on the people, businesses, communities and environment in Michigan is vital. It’s a belief guided by the Triple Bottom Line philosophy we all share at Bazzani.
Having Peter take charge of the construction operations allows me to focus more on our business development and securing new projects. Peter’s extensive technological knowledge and construction expertise is already enhancing the Bazzani brand. He’s creating online tools to add to our efficiency and better serve our customers.
Peter has worked in the design and construction industry for owners, contractors and developers on different projects nationwide, including new construction and renovation of office, residential, educational and medical facilities. Most recently, he served as a private commercial architecture and construction consultant.
Peter’s partnership in the firm is the beginning of the transition beyond my involvement to a more inclusive environment driven by the entire team. Although I will never retire completely, the firm’s leadership needs to evolve while retaining our Triple Bottom Line approach. I am confident Peter will help make that happen.
Please join me in warmly welcoming Peter to Bazzani. Send him an email or give him a call. I am sure you’ll find things in common to talk about professionally and personally. Peter is a MSU graduate in Civil Engineering who moved to the Grand Rapids area 18 years ago. He and his wife, veterinarian Linda Coffman, own Wyoming Animal Hospital. They reside in Rockford with their two daughters.
